For some Christians, memorizing Scriptures is not a very hard task to accomplish. However, in our final step in the five-step CDI process, we will find that just having head knowledge of the Word of God alone will not change your lifestyle. This is the area that has to do with religion. Many people think that it is a compliment to be called religious.

Being called religious is not a compliment at all. Jesus dealt with many religious leaders of His day. To be religious simply means to continually do the same thing. For example, most people religiously go to work in the morning. Like a ritual, they get up at the same time and do the same things every morning to prepare themselves, day after day, religiously. But, these same people if offered a job across the street paying a little bit more would quit their present job in a moment, because they are not committed to that company, even thought they have been doing the same thing day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year, religiously.

They are just religious. Many people treat the Word of God the same way. They recite the same Scriptures with the same lack of faith and get the same old negative results no matter what.

To be successful in growing in the things of God, you must accept the fact that you are to be renewing your mind to the Word of God every day, not just going through a religious routine to be seen of men. When it comes to the CDI process, you can do all of the first four steps and end up frustrated and religious if Step Number 5, renewing your mind, is not included. Learn to renew your mind. Meditate and observe. It is not enough just to know the Word of God, but your lifestyle must be known by doing the Word of God. Become a living example of God's Word in your life, your word and your deed. It's your decision.

You can become victorious and more effective for the kingdom of God by learning to cast down negative thoughts and exalting the Word of God. Decide today to: Step 1 Receive; Step 2 Analyze; Step 3 Reject or Accept (cast down or fortify); Step 4 Replace (with the Word of God); and Step 5 Renew Your Mind. My life and the lives of many others have completely changed, and SO CAN YOURS AS YOU BEGIN THIS DAILY PROCESS!
