Receiving

he first step is receiving. You must be ready to receive those ideas, thoughts, or suggestions that line up with God's will and purpose for your life according to His Word. You must also be ready to reject and cast down those ideas, thoughts, or suggestions that can be detrimental to your growth as a Christian. Your first step in the CDI process is to receive. You will receive information all of the time, but you can control what youreceive.

For example, television is one of the most exciting tools the Body of Christ has available to spread the Gospel, which is being preached on certain channels at certain time. The choice of what you receive is dependent on what channel you choose to receive. You must choose to receive the programs that will benefit your Christian life.

As a born-again believer, you cannot allow fear to stop you from being in a receiving posture. Being ready to receive is vitally important to your growth as a Christian.

II Timothy 1:7 states, "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear...." Notice, fear is a spirit. You must come against that spirit of fear, bind that spirit of fear, and cast that spirit down out of your mind in order to be ready to freely receive, or the spirit of fear will rule and reign in your life above the knowledge of God.

That verse also says, "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
